Thanks to a special order I had the chance to do these two big birds with their chicks. Now they are taking their long journey overseas to the United States. I hope they help the plane to fly faster to arrive still on time for Christmas. Unfortunately I had to send them so soon, that I didnt have the chance anymore to take proper pictures. But as  I enjoyed it a lot I am sure that this wont be my last birds.

 They are a present for two boys so I felted them very strongly that they can be used as a toy. I imediately did another eagle for my kids to experiment the durability in children hands. But I find more and more amazing the quality of this wonderful natural material, as even with the use the animals maintain their shape and keep this beautiful expressive look as if they would be alive.

For me a wonderful alternative to all this plastic junk, that I always feel guilty when bringing to the garbage. OK of course the kids have their wishes.... but they do have a different glance in their eyes when they have one of these animals in their hands.

Last weekend we spent a wonderful and inspiring time with our friend who lives in Tokio! Take a pick in her beautiful work.

As a special honour to my father I post one of my mouse couples that is living inTokio now :-) admiring a beautiful print that my father did. I am almost sure he would have had great chances to become an artist. He loved to do animal studies and this rooster is part of a series of woodcut prints.

I have to admit, that he really had dicfficulties with raw woolen fibers. As much as the female part of our family loves wool in all of its appearance, my father just hated it. And he passed this discomfort feeling with the fibers to my son. But my son still loves my animals, especially the mice. Once he was hiding all of my christmas mice so I would not sell them.....

Still can't believe that my sons last pre school year has gone already, soon I will have two school kids, wow time is really flying..... So last week the wonderful work of all this little hands had to be finished off.
Everyone was very happy and the felt project a great success.

The pictures were all taken by my 8 year old daughter, she has always such a wonderful ideas .....

                  This year we continued with doing felt balls.

           Inbetween the children made beautiful lucky stones
           that were turned into a brooch as a mothers day gift.
           A huge success with the boys and girls and of course
           the proud mothers.
